The Consecration Ceremony of Phra Somdet King Yama

The Consecration Ceremony of Phra Somdet King Yama

King Yama plays an important role in both Buddhist and Hindu beliefs as the judge of departed souls. For this reason, sacred amulets associated with King Yama are highly revered. They are believed to protect one’s destiny, promote progress and success, and enhance merit and spiritual blessings for a smooth and prosperous life.

One of the major merit-making projects inspired by the sacred power of King Yama is the creation of the Phra Somdet King Yama – Tor Boon Tor Sak, Promotion and Ordination Hall Elevation Edition. The project was established to support the restoration and reconstruction of the new ubosot (ordination hall) at Wat Thiang Phimonmuk in Chachoengsao Province. The original ordination hall was built below the required standard level, making it necessary to raise the foundation and reconstruct the building in accordance with the Buddhist monastic regulations (Vinaya).
