On 11 May 2023, a Thursday that fell on the 7th waning day of the sixth lunar month in the Year of the Rabbit, another auspicious day was observed at Wat Bowonniwet Vihara. This was the fourth time that this grand Maha Phutthaphisek ceremony had been held.

During this Maha Phutthaphisek consecration ceremony, all editions of Phra Somdet Phaya Yommarat from the “Tor Boon, Tor Sak, Luean Yot Yok Ubosot” Project of Wat Thiang Phimonmuk, together with Phra Kring Pathumrangsi, were included in the consecration ritual. The ceremony was presided over by Pol. Gen. Torsak Sukvimol, who was serving as the Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police. Also participating in the ceremony was Ajarn Luck Rachasi, Astrological Director of the Bunthit Hora Astrology Institute, served as the reader of the ceremonial invocation, together with Group Captain Suphavit Thammasitthiruj, a Royal Thai Air Force chaplain, who assisted in conducting the ceremony. For this occasion, many renowned monk-scholars and meditation masters were invited to participate in the consecration rites, including: Phra Dhamma Vajirayan of Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, Bangkok; Phra Thep Vajirayan Sophon of Wat Khao Sala Atthanaro, Surin; Phra Phawana Visutthisophon of Wat Phra Du Phra Aram Luang, Samut Songkhram; Phra Khru Wimon Thammaphirom of Wat Thiang Phimonmuk, Chachoengsao; Phra Khru Phaibun Rattanaphon (Luangpho Somboon) of Wat Hong Rattanaram Ratchaworawihan, Bangkok; Phra Khru Wimonyan Udom (Luangpho Tio) of Wat Mani Chonlakhan, Lopburi; Phra Khru Soraphat Khosit (Luangpho Num) of Wat Sisaket, Suphan Buri; Phra Khru Sutthisan Sophit (Luangpho Tong) of Wat Phutakhian, Kanchanaburi; Phra Khru Sathammanithet (Luangpho Thin) of Wat Chaina, Phetchaburi; Phra Khru Samu Khamnuan Parisuttho (Luangpho Khamnuan) of Wat Kaeo Charoen, Samut Songkhram; Phra Khru Rattanasikkhakan of Wat Phutkosi (Nai Tao), Trang; Phra Khru Wimonyan Rangsi Withet (Phra Ajarn Uan) of Wat Awut Wikasitaram, Bangkok; Phra Palat Anuson Paphatsaro (Phra Ajarn Tom) of Wat Tha Sabaeng, Roi Et; and Phra Khru Thammathon Adirek Anuttaro (Phra Ajarn Rek) of Wat Nong Sai, Suphan Buri. The ceremonial victory candle (Thian Chai) was lit by Phra Dhamma Vajirayan of Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, Bangkok, and was later extinguished by Phra Phawana Visutthisophon (Luangpho Phra Maha Surasak) of Wat Phra Du Phra Aram Luang, Samut Songkhram.

This ceremony was conducted based on the belief that a Maha Phutthaphisek consecration ceremony enables Buddha images and sacred objects to receive Buddhist blessings and become sacred.Even Buddha images and sacred objects that already exist are always brought into the ceremony whenever a Maha Phutthaphisek rite is performed. The ceremony proceeded smoothly and was successfully completed. A Thaksinanupathan merit-dedication ceremony was also held in dedication to the Supreme Patriarch and all former kings for auspiciousness and in remembrance of their benevolence.
